Kerala Catholic Association of the UK (KCA) hosted its annual Christmas & New Years Programme on Sunday 08 January 2012 in East Ham Town Hall. Arts Coordinator Terence Kabalias welcomed an audience of 500 people. Fr Johnson Alexander, Chaplain to the Kerala Community gave the Christmas message. Fr Bob Hamill, Parish Priest of St Michael's Church and Newham Councillor Jose Alexander were the among the dignitaries present. The event commenced with a variety of programmes from members of the community, including a nativity play organised by KCA's Womans Group. The famous Playback Singer Biju Narayanan hosted a live ganamela and entertained the audience with some spectacular selection of songs. KCA's Patron, Mgr John Armitage also spoke of his impressions of the event. The President of KCA Bastian Bennett spoke to the audience on the growth and development of the organisation. He also awarded various members of the community for their hard work and dedication they have shown to the community. Famous Malayalam Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu was the surprise for the night! He entered the stage and entertained the crowd, together with Biju Narayanan with classic mimicry. Secretary of KCA Mervin Peter proposed the vote of thanks.
